Multiparameter Approach for Damage Propagation Analysis in Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites

Assessing the damage evolution in carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites is an intricate task due to their complex mechanical responses. The acoustic emission technique (AE) a non-destructive evaluation tool that based on recording of sound waves generated inside material as consequence presence active defects. Proper analysis recorded can be used for monitoring many materials, including composites. track associated with entire loading history sample or structures usually followed by using some descriptors, such amplitude and number counts. In this study, CFRP single-lap shear joints was monitored multiparameter approach contemporary multiple features, absolute signal level (ASL), initiation frequency, reverberation understand whether proper combination them adopted more robust description propagation structures. For selecting best principal component (PCA) used. selected features were classified into different clusters fuzzy c-means (FCM) data clustering analyzing modes.
